What is the cancellation policy?

We understand that personal commitments may change your plans. To cancel a reservation, please send written notice (e-mail) to info@tarheeldiscoveries.com.

If your cancellation request is received more than 30 days prior to trip date, a $75 nonrefundable administrative fee is deducted from your refund.

A cancellation request received within 30 days of the program start date, due to an unavoidable situation (medical, death in family, extenutating circumstances) will be honored, minus a $75 non refundable administrative fee, provided that a substitute participate can the space. If a substitute is not available, the balance will be retained and maybe applied towards a future program.


What if I miss a program event during the week or need to leave early?

Refunds are not available for missed events or early departures.



The trip leaders will not be held responsible for events beyond their control, including illness and accident. We reserve the right to cancel the trip due to adverse weather conditions, emergency, or the lack of sufficient participation. In the event of trip cancellation due to insufficient participation, you will be notified four weeks in advance. Please do not make your non-cancelable travel reservations until after registration closes one month before program commencement.  Our liability will be limited to refunding any registration fees already paid and we will not be liable for any other claims, losses, or damages.


Changes to Planned Events

Related to liability, best effort has been expended to create a quality program.  Sometimes however, circumstances may force a modification to a program event (different speaker, alternate meal options, etc.).  We will keep you informed of any needed adjustments to the program ASAP.
